As awareness and prevalence of food allergy appears to be increasing, education and management for everyone involved is important. Food allergy affects approximately 11 million Americans. The following food allergy resources may be helpful in providing information on food allergic reactions, including the Big 8 food allergens (milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, soy, wheat, and shellfish), other allergens, common food allergy symptoms, food allergy management, and the difference between food allergy and food intolerance. Also included are links to materials on food ingredients and colors, which are sometimes perceived as being associated with food allergy or food sensitivity.
